In accordance with her legal powers, the Ombudswoman was one of the main initiators of the amendment to the Law on the Voters’ Register, which, in accordance with art. 9, 12 and 29 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia, enables persons who have been appointed a guardian for the purpose of protecting their rights, to exercise their right to vote.
Before all elections, the Ombudsperson regularly calls on all persons with disabilities to exercise their right to participate in political life through voting in elections.
